Im Captain Jack Sparrow, Savvy??
So what was your verdict on Stranger Tides? The fourth instalment in this hugely enjoyable franchise was a massive hit but how did it compare with the first three movies? Curse of the Black Pearl was a great movie introducing some much loved characters and of course the legendary entrance of Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow stepping from his sinking ship on to dry land, fantastic!! Orlando Bloom's Will also added much comedy value along side Sparrow. The entire crew of the black pearl was flooded with memorable characters with Geoffrey Rush's Barbosa proving to be a worthy villain. Then came Dead Man's Chest with Sparrow returning and pitted against an even more slippery villain the remarkable CGI Davy Jones given life by Bill Nighy. With Sparrow taken to the depths of Davy Jones' locker this led to the highly anticipated At Worlds End. At Worlds End forces Sparrow and Barbosa to put aside their differences and work together to defeat Davy Jones with Will paying the ultimate price to save his father and defeat the inky villain. So what about On Stranger Tides? After the second and third instalments it was a welcome and refreshing change. Most of the original cast are dispensed with but Jack and Barbosa are back. An excellent intro once again for Sparrow this time impersonating a judge to save his trusty side kick Gibbs. There is a lot great action here and some funny moments too. Black Beard proves to be quite a match for Barbosa, indeed his arch nemesis. So was On Stranger Tides a success? My verdict is most definitely! Perhaps individual stories for stand alone pirate movies is the way to go as it keeps things fresh and exciting and it widens the scope for new and more interesting characters to be introduced savvy????
